Background | JJ McLeod has lived in the Bandon area since 1978. He retired in 2016 from the South Coast Business Employment Corporation (SCBEC). His tenure with SCBEC spanned more than 40 years, including 33 years as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. His work included management of up to 85 employees and administration of the private non-profit organization providing job training and placement in Coos and Curry counties, as well as support for senior nutrition, social and health services, and public transportation. JJ’s professional experience includes human resources, grant writing, budget development and reporting. He is a past board member for the Bandon School District and the Bandon Chamber of Commerce and volunteer for additional regional committees. He believes universal access to health care is a right and works toward reaching that goal. JJ and his wife Penny have been married 40 years. They are the parents of two adult children and two grandchildren. |

Background | Leesa is Executive Director for the Port Orford Ocean Resources Team. She is a lifelong resident of Port Orford and a heritage community member of Coos County. Leesa brings experience in board management, project management, grant writing, and strategic planning. She is a leader within the fishing industry in Curry County, working with fishing families to support the stable continuation of the industry with an aim towards triple bottom line projects in the marine environment. |

Background | Beth is co-owner of Bandon Mercantile Company, established in 1985, in Old Town Bandon. An avid outdoor and arts enthusiast, Beth is a member of the Bandon Dunes Golf Club and a Bandon Showcase committee member. She served on the Bandon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 20 years, including one term as president. She is a former chairwoman for the Bandon Economic Development Committee and served 10 years with the Cranberry Festival Committee. She studied political science at University of Wisconsin and Western State Colorado University. |

Background | David is a native of Montana born in Great Falls. He and his wife Kristin have lived in Bandon since 2010, arriving in an RV, and then hatching a plan to stay. In the 1990’s he was a Senior Technologist helping to launch the first version of the Patagonia Mail Order Catalog online. He has held senior roles with companies like Getty Images, Voice Stream, Expedia, and others. He operated a technology consulting business in downtown Seattle in the 2000’s. His passions include German Short Haired pointers, shotguns, fly fishing, anything to do with pizza and maybe golf, soon. David now works as a private consultant operating from a cottage office. He continues to give time to a wide range of NPO/NGO’s assisting with web presence needs. |

Background | Steven Borror is a 20+ year member of the PGA of America and currently serving as the Director of Golf at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. He lives in Coquille, OR, with his wife Carol and son Carter who attends Coquille High School. The Borror family moved to the coast in 2005 and were passionate about becoming involved in the community. Steven has been active with introducing junior golf programs to the coastal community including PGA Jr. League and Golf in Schools. |

Background | Dominique was born in April 1957 in Casablanca, Morocco. She left her home country at the age of 17 to attend university in Toulouse, France where she earned her master’s degree in pharmacy in 1979. She worked for as a researcher studying lipoproteins of cholesterol, she has been a head pharmacist in France, Corsica, and Reunion Island for 28 years. Beside the pharmacy, she found a true passion for pottery and ceramics at age 27. She fell in love with the Oregon coast in 1992 and finally settled in Port Orford in 2005. Besides being a private French and Spanish teacher, she made French crepes at the local summer markets, and run her pottery studio, developing essentially the Japanese technique of Raku. She is a former Park Commissioner in Port Orford and was actively involved with her 2 youngest children in the Ford Foundation. An important part of her life is growing a big vegetable garden, while making her medicinal tinctures (Calendula, Arnica, Mullein), her soaps (with the ancient method du Savon de Marseille ). She practices Chi Gong, Tai chi, Yoga, she draws and travels. Dominique is the mother of four adult children. |

Background | Born and raised in the Denver, Colorado area, Greg moved to the Oregon Coast ten years ago to raise his kids in Bandon. He and his wife have a blended family for a a total of seven kids, all of whom have been actively involved in the Bandon community for many years. Having completed his Masters of of Divination. and a Ph.D. in counseling, Greg became the Senior Pastor at Bandon’s First Baptist Church in 2016 after many years as a private counselor. Greg has collaborated with CCHC to bring Dialectical Behavior Skills Training classes to the community to address the shortfalls in behavioral health resources in our county. He serves as the current president of the Bandon Ministerial Association and cooperates with numerous area charities including E.A.T., Senior Meals, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, the Red Cross, Coastal Harvest, and FBC’s winter homeless warming shelter. He also serves on the board of the Bandon Educational Foundation. |

Background | Joseph is a 42-year local resident. He has been a patient of CCHC since its inception and has been involved in its growth and expansion into CCHC contributing to the building leasehold improvements, assisting with construction and facility projects, renovations, and construction and creation of the Bandon Pharmacy. Joseph has owned Joseph Caspary Construction LLC since 1985. Joseph has had a passion for quietly assisting people in the community, and beyond his self-employment you will find Joseph enjoying the bounties of South Coast outdoors, fishing, gardening, and cooking. |

Background | Evan was born in New York City. His family moved to the San Fernando Valley two years later. He lived in the LA area until the age of 40 when he and his wife Valerie moved to Port Orford. They started a free weekly newspaper called the Port Orford Today and by February of 1991 they opened the Downtown Fun Zone featuring video rentals, copies, fax, etc. They closed the business in 2012 and sold the building in April of 2017. Evan spent most of his career working for the US Postal Service for 14 years mainly as a letter carrier in Burbank, Ca. Evan suddenly lost his beloved wife Valerie. He now spends his time with Gizmo his dog and three cats. Evan works to stay healthy and physically active. He is a wandering spirit and loves to travel. |

Background | Lynne grew up in Idaho. She dreamed at an early age to be a social worker and go to Alaska. After two years of college, she went to San Francisco to enjoy the Beatnik culture. She eventually returned to school and got her BSW her MSW. Lynne worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Idaho and Alaska before coming to Oregon and working in Curry County in mental Health and Hospice. Lynne is now retired and loves to read, listen to music. She also loves animals and Italy. |
Our volunteer committee members support Coast Community Health Center in making the best use of its fiscal resources, and they help us maintain connections with other community businesses and organizations.
