The more people who get vaccinated, the more people will be protected from flu, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Take advantage of daytime and evening walk-in flu shot dates at Coast Community Health Center in Bandon: Saturday, September 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursdays, October 20, 8 to 10 a.m.

October 27, 12 to 2 p.m.

November 3, 5 to 7 p.m.

For convenience, business owners and employees in Bandon’s Old Town area are invited to a walk-in flu shot event Wednesday, October 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bandon Visitors Center, 300 2nd St.

Cash and health insurance are accepted for the vaccine and administration cost. Please bring your insurance card if you would like to bill your insurance company. No one will be turned away based on inability to pay. For questions about flu shot events, contact health center staff, 541-347-2529.

The CDC recommends flu shots before the end of October, when possible. Vaccinations are available for adults and children. Flu vaccines have been updated to match circulating viruses better, and only injectable flu shots are recommended for the 2016-17 flu season. Ask your health provider about vaccines for seniors, young children and those with egg allergies.
