Expertise and Background
Family Nurse Practitioner Whitney Lynn has served adults, children and infants in primary and specialty clinics and hospitals. She discovered her passion for working with families in her three years as a neonatal ICU nurse and through medical mission trips abroad.
“I like focusing on prevention– understanding that people come from different places, talking with them and understanding their needs,” said Lynn.
Communication that promotes health literacy is a priority for Lynn. She helps patients expand their understanding of health so they can comfortably share their needs and goals.
“Health literacy is working with patients so they understand what health is and what they want their own health to look like,” she said.
NP Lynn was inducted into the Delta Psi International Honor Society in 2016. She was the 2013 president of the University of Kentucky Student Nurses Association and earned the UK College of Nursing Alumni Association Nightingale Award.
NP Lynn spent her childhood on a dairy farm in the small town of Maysville, Kentucky. She and her husband Micah appreciate the pace of life and ease of making friends in a small town such as Bandon. They enjoy travel, hiking and kayaking. Just before relocating to Bandon in 2017, they embarked on a two-month tour of a dozen national parks with their Yorkshire Terrier, Chloe.
