Tara Johnson and her family have had ties to Coos County for many years. She is an active community member who serves on the board of directors for the Dora Sitkum Rural Fire Protection District and Coos County Library Service District. She volunteers with the Myrtle Point High School Robotics Club, Myrtle Point chapter of FFA, and the Coos County Fair. Tara is Executive Director of the Devereux Center in Coos Bay, the county’s only day shelter for those experiencing homelessness. A resident of Dora, Tara understands the obstacles rural families face in accessing health care. She is an advocate for patients experiencing homelessness and mental or behavioral health disorders.
