Coast Community Health Center is celebrating seven years in health care. Enjoy live music and refreshments, visit with staff and tour the clinic at the annual open house on Saturday, September 24.

Drop by between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 1010 First St. SE, next to the Bandon Shopping Center. Guests are invited to enter a prize drawing for fun, healthy giveaways from the health center, Bandon Mercantile Company, MarLo Dance Studio and the Old Town Marketplace. The event is free and open to the public.

Back by popular demand, musical guests Kenny, Bob & Rob will share folk music with a country flavor. The Bandon-based trio is well-known throughout the Southern Oregon restaurant and community event circuit.

Guitarist Kenny Croes is semi-retired from the music and broadcast business and now builds ventriloquist dummies in his free time. Fiddler and dobro player Bob Shaffar is a lineman for the City of Bandon and member of the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association. Bass player Rob Hamilton is a cabinet maker and community volunteer. All three members of the band take turns on vocals.

2016 open house giveaways feature an assortment of fun, healthy surprises. Enter for free for a chance to win one of three prizes: The T-Fal ActiFry from the Bandon Mercantile lets you cook your favorite fried foods with only one tablespoon of oil. Get moving with dance lessons with MarLo Dance Studio. Or, eat well with a local foods gift basket from the Old Town Marketplace.

The annual open house is an opportunity for health center staff to say thank you to patients, volunteers and the many organizations who support the health center’s mission to provide high quality, affordable health care to residents in Southern Coos and Northern Curry counties.

Coast Community Health Center’s staff, board members and supporters believe everyone deserves access to high quality primary health care, regardless of their income. This year, the health center is pleased to announce that it has more than doubled the number of private and public insurance carriers on its preferred provider list. And, the health center continues to offer a sliding scale option for private pay patients.

Come by the Bandon open house to meet the health team, including patient services staff, nurses and medical assistants, community outreach workers, as well as caring, experienced behavioral health and primary care providers led by medical director, Dr. Hank Holmes.
