On a balmy spring evening in April, the Bandon Chamber of Commerce hosted an after-hours event at Coast Community Health Center.  Guests were treated to delicious hor ‘deouves from Coastal Mist as well as excellent wines from Bandon Fine Wines, with delightful Oregon beers thanks to The Beverage Barn.  The evening specifically welcomed our newest medical providers, Richard Standiford LCSW, and Valerie Lodge FNP.

Richard Standiford, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has over thirty years’ experience providing counseling and case management for those diagnosed with mental illness and chemical abuse. Valerie Lodge, Family Nurse Practitioner, joined the Coast Community Health Center team from Washington, where she served as a rural health family practitioner with over fifteen years’ experience in pediatrics, with added practice as an urgent care medical provider.  In her address to the attendees, Executive Director, Linda Maxon also highlighted the growing collaborations Coast Community Health Center has in the community providing dental health, transportation, and prescription assistance to uninsured or under-insured patients.

The event included a self-guided tour of the facility.  Various features unique to the center were demonstrated such as the vaccine program for children which provides no to low cost vaccines for children aged 0-18yrs.  In addition, the tour displayed our procedure room which provides non-surgical interventions such as skin lesion removal,  wound care, EKS’s or minor surgery that does not require general anesthesia.  This fun, educational night provided the business community with closer look at Coast Community Health Center, the quality services it provides, as well as an opportunity to get to know the highly skilled staff that serves the southern coast.
